all my single ladies.

So I'm attending a wedding next week. The couple getting married is a girl I met freshman year and her boyfriend she met while in college. It's really nice to see a young couple start a new life together. My conundrum is this: I'm not currently dating any one in particular, but when filling out the tiny RSVP card, I found myself writing a 2 on the line for number of guests attending. I instantly started thinking of all the boys I could take as my date, considering only the ones who would a) be fun to dance with b) not embarrass me c) not be awkward d) all the other little things that matter when choosing a date you're not actually dating. And then I thought, well why does it have to be a boy?

So my question(s) is(are) this(these): If you're a single girl or boy, why can't your plus one be a best friend or someone random? If you're not dating someone, is it rude to just bring a friend? Just because I'm single, does that mean I have to arrive at and attend a wedding solo?

Now, I'm not saying I'm bitter that I'm single or jealous of all the happy lovey-dovey couples out there, because I'm not. I chose to be single and rather enjoy it. What I am saying is single people should be able to have a form of companionship without feeling like they're taking advantage of the system. I'd like to bring a close friend to something like a wedding to share such a lovely occasion full of emotion, and not get looked down upon for making them order an extra plate of food.

Here's a toast, to all the single ladies who have no shame in bringing a plus one despite their lack of a one and only.

new york.

I noticed in New York, people result in putting trees on top of the buildings since there's no room for them on the ground. Donald Trup is one of these people.

a place for thoughts.

I find myself often wanting to just say things. I don't have many outlets other than MySpace and Facebook, and although those are nice options, I feel like too many people use those two social networks to whine about petty problems. Now, I may not be very interesting or have anything very important to say but I just need to say it. I also am starting to take more photos and would like to share those with people who actually care. So here it goes. Enjoy it if you can.
